Why hello there 👋
My name is Roman, and I am an engineer by education and a software developer by passion. For me, coding is both work and leisure. I use this website to write about interesting, fun, and aggravating parts of software development.
I've been programming professionally since 2020. It started as a stay-at-home hobby and quickly turned into a full-time career. I absolutely fell in love with the craft of software engineering. My main area of expertise was and still is web development. Full-stack TypeScript remains my favorite way to ship high-quality code quickly. I think I have a strong case of Stockholm syndrome for the JavaScript™ ecosystem.
Currently, I work at Impaxis. We are building a corporate social responsibility platform that prioritizes speed, flexibility, and accuracy. We take a data-oriented approach to a traditionally subjective industry, providing our customers with sensible and privacy-preserving automation. Imaxis sets itself apart by ensuring that sensitive customer data remains completely private: our platform is end-to-end encrypted, so we never have access to confidential information.
Nowadays, my interests outside of professional work are in offline-first distributed applications and peer-to-peer tools. For quite some time, I have been working on an AGPL alternative to the personal suite of apps that come preinstalled on mobile phones. Well, now I know pretty well that decentralized data replication and state reconciliation are non-trivial problems.
Anyways, you can find me on GitHub or LinkedIn.
Happy reading!
